Tanjung Piai

We were looking forward to the trip to Tanjung Piai. When we arrive at the park, Harban quickly usher us to join his talk on the park before proceeding with our sight seeing. With his slides, he took us from the past, present and to the future of the park. He clearly explains about the erosion we are experiencing due to the development at Port of Tanjung Pelepas. But in all, we too are contributing to this pollution and environmental warming.

After the talk Harban took us for a walk to see the Mangrove Park. The place was liter with debris brought by the tides. We saw a group of redshank, monkeys and a sherphant eagle on top of the tree. The cool breezes make us feel drowsy even after a good night sleep just hours ago. Unfortunately we did not manage to view the southern tip as the place is under renovation.

When we left for the cark park, we saw that the park entrance was filled with sea water. According to the park officers, this phenomenon happened only twice a year and we were lucky to experience it. The overflowing water created a small water fall in front of the park. This is a fun place to be but was not known to Johorean. Most foreigners from as far as Norway knew Tanjung Piai from words of mouth and enjoy the trip there.
